John Jiang Ph.D. is the co-founder of Roamware and is responsible for product vision and technical direction. As Chief Technology Officer (CTO), he heads Roamware’s Research and Development (R&D) teams. John is the principle inventor of Roamware's 100+ patent portfolio, including Traffic Redirection™. He also leads the company's GSM standard activities including BARG, IREG, and TADIG, among others, and is among the founding members of the GSM Association’s (GSMA) Steering of Roaming and Open Connectivity Groups.
Prior to co-founding Roamware, John Jiang was Executive Director - Wireless Information Services, at SBC (later merged with Cingular/AT&T Wireless unit) and led SBC's WAP forum activities. His earlier assignments include CTO and Senior Vice President – Engineering at ITC, a start-up company; Principal Scientist at AT&T/Lucent Bell Lab's Artificial Intelligence Lab and lead member of technical staff at Pacific Bell (Telesis) Technology.
John Jiang was awarded the prestigious "Advanced Fellow" of the British Science and Engineering Research Council and was a faculty member of the computer science department at Imperial College, England for 5 years before joining Bell Labs. He joined the faculty at Imperial College after being awarded the British Telecom Post Doctoral Fellowship at the computer laboratory in Cambridge University, England.
John Jiang is originally from China and was among the top 30 students selected nationally to study undergraduate school overseas in 1979 and was nominated "Chinese Youth of the Year" by China Youth Magazine in 1986 for his outstanding academic achievements. |
